B-Corp was founded in 2007 with the mission of making it easier for businesses to improve their long term positive impact, as of 2021 there are now over four thousand registered B-Corps globally, some big name brands like Patagonia, Innocent Smoothies and The Guardian have recently signed up.

Similar to how the Fairtrade logo allows consumers to buy with confidence, the B-Corp certification acts as a way to identify businesses that act ethically and with consideration to their long term legacy. They’ll assess your business and give you a score based on your sustainability.

This score is a powerful tool that allows you to assess your businesses sustainability strengths and weaknesses, if your business doesn’t get the 80 points required to qualify B-Corp will then help you improve your score.

If you run or work for a sustainable and or ethical business and you’ve not considered becoming a registered B-Corp then take some time to check out their website here and consider if becoming a B-Corp is right for you.
